This watercolor was done in 1991 from a trip to Guatemala. The market was within the ruins of a cathedral destroyed by an earthquake a long time ago.

I previously featured a detail of this painting on this blog. I don't usually include larger paintings because the blog is intended to feature small art works. This painting was accepted into the California State Fair fine arts competition and was given an Award of Merit. It also received a Publisher's Award from Inside Publications and this month is featured as the cover art on the Land Park edition of Inside magazine.
