Big Names, Small Art

I recently had a couple of paintings in Big Names, Small Art, a fund raising silent auction for the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA which took place on May 23. It was an energetic, fun filled evening. The auction was divided into four groups, set up in different areas of the museum's courtyard. The bidding for each auction closed about a half an hour apart and attention was drawn to the closing groups by three colorful dancing gals on stilts. The crowd of artists and art lovers were themselves colorful. The museum chose to sell my two tiny paintings as a diptych and it was fun to see the back and forth between bidders as the auction came to a close. The event was very successful and all submitted art was sold.

The paintings I sold were previously shown in this blog:

Central California Art Association 60th Annual Spring Art Show

I'm a bit behind in keeping up this blog, but I want to mention a show that I was recently in, the Central California Art Association 60th Annual Spring Art Show.

This show ran from May 4 to June 14 at the Mistlin Gallery in Modesto, CA. I'm not a member of the Central California Art Association and this was my first time to enter anything in the show. There was a wide variety of art in the gallery and we had a fun time at the Gala Opening on May 4th. The three works I had in the show were previously included in this blog.
